1. Old Phuket Town

Vibrant Sino-Portuguese mansions, gorgeous boutiques, quaint cafes, beautiful art galleries, and museums dot the streets of this famous sightseeing spot. This area gives tourists a glimpse of the island’s splendor in the olden days. Some of the best areas to visit in this town include Soi Romanee, Thalang Toad, and the Thai Hua Museum.

 

2. Big Buddha

One of the most famous landmarks of Phuket, the Big Buddha majestically sits on top of Nakkerd Hills, nestled between Chalong and Kata. This iconic concrete-marble statue stands around 45 meters tall and is visible even from afar. The statue’s location is also a great viewpoint where one can enjoy spectacular views of the island.

 

3. Wat Chalong

There are many temples in Phuket that are worth seeing but Wat Chalong is the island’s most popular and most revered of them all. Its ornate architectural style and beautiful wall paintings are truly spectacular. It is also a great venue for learning more about Buddhism and witnessing firsthand locals pray and pay their respects whenever they visit the temple.

 

4. Heroine’s Monument

Another popular landmark in Phuket, the Heroine’s Monument is an image of two brave women who led the battle against Burmese intruders around two centuries ago. The statue of Lady Chan and Lady Mook is located in Thepkasattri Road in Thalang. Locals, especially those who visit the area for the first time, usually stop by this shrine to pay their respects to their heroines.

 

5. Siam Niramit

Discover Thailand’s rich cultural heritage by watching one of the largest stage productions in the world. Siam Niramit takes its audience on a journey to Siam’s colorful past through spectacular stage performances and amazing special effects. Its park attractions feature a traditional village that portrays the traditional Thai lifestyle.
