Kamala Beach in Phuket is an amazing beach with clear waters in the peak seasons with a good quantity of beach dining and shopping alternatives, and a number of hotels, some directly with a beach access. A huge path from Patong goes through Kamala, and you might need to drive slow to see the street right at the bottom of the hill. Kamala has two villages, the main Muslim village at the back but not much happens around here, and the tourist form part of Kamala constructed along the beach.
As you head towards the beach, you will find it hard to park your car. Once there, you will see small shops and eateries set along a new path that follows most of the beach. This is the Kamala Beach area, where there are so many great places for meals, or drinks, some even have a stunning display of sun and skies of Phuket.
In the street you will find tailors, stores, travel agencies, a number of bars and restaurants, and even two medium shopping alleys, one towards the beach and one towards a plaza in the back. Some of the famous restaurants in Phuket are on this street, like Charoen Seafood at Kamala Deam and Sla Thai.
Kamala thrives to the south with a second small beach and a long path. This path is meant to reach Patong. You will get to see the spectacular Paresa Resort and a collection of amazing individual villas, and an amazing restaurant on the cliff known as Diavolo, by walking along this stretch of beach. At the end, you may enjoy a few drinks in a small bar on top of rock boulders with great views of Patong Bay.
Generally, Kamala is an amazing beach. This probably is the reason why it has a high number of visitors. These visitors sure do know that the best way to keep an amazing beach to yourself is to keep it low profile.
