1. Khao Rang Viewpoint

Situated 140 meters above sea level, Rang Hill has an observation deck that provides dazzling sights of Phuket Old Town, Chalong Bay, the Big Buddha, and several small islands on Phuket’s east coast. 

It also has a park where you can walk, exercise, play sports, or enjoy a picnic. Khao Rang is also home to restaurants like Tunk-ka Cafe, Khao Rang Breeze, and Phuket View, where you can enjoy the scenery while enjoying an intimate and sumptuous dinner.

3. Karon Viewpoint

One of the most visited viewpoints on Phuket’s west coast is the Karon Viewpoint or the Three bay Viewpoint. Locals call it “Wiw săam àao” (วิวสามอ่าว), which translates to “View of Three Bays, ” since it offers marvelous sights of a crescent-shaped archipelago formed by three famous Phuket beaches: Kata Noi, Kata Yai, and Karon. The viewpoint is accessible, family-friendly, and has parking lots, toilets, shops, snack stands, and a shaded pavilion, making it a popular addition to tourist itineraries.

4. Big Buddha Viewpoint

The imposing 45-meter-tall marble statue known as Big Buddha is one of the most iconic cultural attractions in Phuket. The revered landmark sits atop Nakkerd Hills and is visible from anywhere in the Southern part of Phuket. 

It also offers sweeping panoramas of Chalong Bay, Karon Beach, and nearby towns. Aside from the wondrous sights, visitors also visit this destination to meditate, pray, and learn about Buddhism.

5. Promthep Cape

This famous viewpoint at the southernmost tip of the island is hailed as one of the best spots to watch the sunset and one of the most photographed locations in Phuket. The cape is 200 meters above sea level, about two kilometers from Rawai Beach. 

Aside from the panoramic vistas of nearby beaches, islets, and the vast sea, Promthep Cape has a lighthouse with a museum of historical maritime artifacts and a restaurant where you can enjoy classic Thai dishes while enjoying the spectacular view. Since this is one of the most popular destinations in Phuket, you will also find several souvenir shops and snack stalls in the area.

6. Laem Singh Viewpoint

Laem Singh is a hidden gem between Kamala and Surin, two of the most popular beaches on the west coast. It is a popular stopover between renowned beach towns and an ideal unwinding spot. Here, you’ll find a cliffside open pavilion where you can relax and snap photos while enjoying the calming ocean breeze and commanding mountain views. 

Though less busy than the well-known viewpoints, the area can get quite crowded at sunset. Despite being a nominal viewpoint, the scenic landscape in Laem Singh is just as stunning and impressive.

7. Radar Hill Viewpoint

At 529 meters above sea level, Radar Hill Viewpoint, or the Khao Mai Thao Sip Song Viewpoint, is the highest peak in Phuket. Getting to the viewpoint can be challenging as you must hike along the Chao Fa West Road, but the effort is worth it. 

Once there, you will be greeted by the expansive sceneries from Chalong Bay, Phuket Town, and Patong – one of the island’s most popular beach destinations. Tour itineraries don’t usually include Radar Hill, so hiring a local guide is the best option if you want to visit the area.

8. Black Rock Viewpoint

Also known as Pa Hin Dam in Thai, this underrated destination offers scenic views of attractions like Nai Harn Beach, Big Buddha, Promthep Cape, Chalong Bay, Koh Kaew Pitsadarn, Yanui Beach, and Koh Mai Ton. 

The viewpoint features a cliffside soil terrace and a massive black granite stone where it got its name. Its remoteness and unadulterated beauty make Black Rock Viewpoint an excellent alternative for travelers seeking a more unique and serene experience.

9. Windmill Viewpoint

As the name suggests, Windmill Viewpoint is home to several windmills that are an alternative energy source. Here, you can enjoy an elevated perspective of Nai Harn and Ya Nui Beaches and an enthralling peek at the boats and ships heading out to the Andaman Sea. 

The viewpoint also serves as a meeting place for model airplane enthusiasts and parasailers, which means you will also be treated to the sight of aircraft and parasails flying by.
